#GRABilly WHERE ARE WE?

Today at school weΒ worked together to write some clues about our geographical location for our #GRABilly friends. Read through our clues and guess where we are:

  1. We are in your future! We are 12 hours ahead of you (EST).
  2. We are in the westernmost state of Australia.
  3. The indigenous people of our area say “Kia, Noongar Boodja.”
  4. Our city is the capital of our state.
  5. Our suburb is near Leach Highway and the Kwinana Freeway.
  6. Were are near a train station which has two words in its name.
  7. We are near the Mount Henry Bridge which crosses the Canning River.
  8. Our suburb is named after Henry Bull.

Do us a favour #GRABilly friends. Leave a comment here with some clues about where you live? It’s just like a mystery Skype, but with words only. We will use our think-like-a-geographer skills to work out where you are. Thanks to Mrs Harrison’s class for this great idea.

  5. Hello Ms. Lockyer’s class!

We used your clues, our desk maps of the world and Google Maps to find you. We found two primary schools near Bull Creek in Western Australia. One was Bull Creek Primary School and the other was Oberthur Primary School. Our best guess is that your class is in Bull Creek Primary School, because you mentioned Henry Bull in your clues, and Bull Creek Primary is closer to the train station and the bridge. Are we correct?

Thanks for your clues! We had a lot of fun trying to find you. We took a break for lunch and recess, but will be writing our clues for you after that. More soon!!!

  7. I think you are at Northeast Elementary School in the city of Ithaca of New York state in the United states. New York state which capital city is Albany, is 12 hours behind us and on the northern hemisphere. You are in the United States as it has 50 States and your continent touches the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans. Your city Ithaca is the home of Cornell University and is in the central part of the New York state. Lastly I looked at the map and found that Northeast Elementary School is at the southern end of one of the Finger Lakes and within walking distance to Cornell Lab of Ornithology and even shorter walk (about 4 minutes) to Dewitt Middle School.
