MODELLED WORD: RECIPE
- A sentence with 8 words. I found the recipe very difficult to read.
- A sentence with the word at the beginning Recipe instructions are easier to follow if the ingredients and method are listed separately.
- A sentence containing a clause. As the clocked ticked on, he wished he had used his father’s recipe for the roast lamb.
- A question. What might happen if I put more milk in the mixture than recommended in the recipe?

First up! Well done! Love the basketball context, and love how you spotted your own punctuation error.
Nice sentences! I love the one with defence and defend in it. I’m thinking that sentence 3 might not need a comma – what do you think?
Don’t forget the question mark. I really like how you mentioned the different ways of spelling defence-defense today. Easter egg!
My favourite sentence was the last one. Some tips:
Fremantle Dockers’ – capital D, and needs a possessive apostrophe.
The Fremantle dockers defence line was very strong.
Australia citizens = Australian citizens.
In some soccer teams, football teams and other teams too, there is a defence, it is also in video games.
TRY THIS INSTEAD:
In some soccer teams, football teams and other teams too, there is a defence. It is also in video games.
Nice!
Good start team.
No. 3: no comma needed.
I wish No. 4 was longer because it’s an interesting topic!
Whoa, that last sentence! Now I want to read your whole story! Nice use of ellipsis punctuation.
I’m confused. ‘had defense’ sounds more like it belongs in basketball rather than the army.
Nice variety of definitions for the one word here.
TIPS: girls’ soccer team – you need a possessive apostrophe.
I usually play defense, however I wonder… The sentence improves when you add a conjunction such as HOWEVER, BUT, ALTHOUGH to make it one sentence rather than two.
Nice clause, but the comma not needed.
Nice!
Thanks – appreciated!
I love these Sarah!
I found a cosmic nest of white ants.

sentence 1: perfect!
sentence 2: too many words
sentence 3: nice clause, but you don’t need the comma. Every night I dream of cosmic stars that remind me of my friends and family.
sentence 4: not a question. This sentence contains a clause that is about what you are thinking.

Cosmic stars are astonishing to look at.
As the cosmic stars shined, we had dinner under the stars.

The first 2 sentences do not have 8 words.
I LOVE the 3rd and 4th sentences!
The cosmic alien landed on Mars, just as the Mars rover came though the atmosphere.
Did the cosmic alien burn its green bottom on Mars’ atmosphere?
I REALLY like these! Here’s a suggestion with your sentence containing a clause: place the dependent clause first. “Just as the Mars Rover came through the atmosphere, the cosmic alien landed on Mars.”
Word:cosmic
Melting meteorite from cosmic planets from outer space
I’m not sure this is a proper sentence. You need a verb. Don’t forget your full stop.
A sentence with 8 words. I saw the cosmic spaceship land on Earth.
Starting with the word. Cosmic dust was released off the moon.
Question. Why does cosmic dust exist?
